So first Ill go with the Points System (Called Rings)







POINTS SYSTEM




These Points you get all the time, for posting and creating topics or even adding a friend
(This feature I've just implemented - The other person also has to accept you like in the SEGA forums)


Simply how do you earn them?
This system is pretty simple, as I said just for posting - Currently Points are being awarded for :


Profile Message - 5 (Posting Profile Messages does not grant you points but the other person)
Gain Per Friend - 5
Edit : 15 - Because Socializing with others is VERY GOOD
Post A Topic - 3

And 1 is simply awarded for posting a Message. (Chatbox does not apply)






REPUTATION SYSTEM



These are very simillar to the Points System.

Simply there is a PLUS and a MINUS button on the sides (We haven't implemented buttons for this yet so it's this for meantime)

Clicking The Plus - Gives The Poster +1 to the Reputation
Clicking The Minus - Gives The Poster -1 to the Reputation

I've introduced a 'Thanks' button to the forums that is unique in style compared to the other buttons on the forum this means that you really thank the user and he gets +3 Reputation



Feel free to click this button as a test - Gives me +3

I can't see the thank button.
I do see the + & -

I like to say my thanks in person, but this is much better.

Do the + and - things have anything to do with it?

Plus and Minus are for reputation you can give a plus 1 to someone or minus one.

Ill have to go through settings because everything seems fine for me.

The thanks button is non-existent

Yes I've went over this whole issue if you check the Sonic Rumours section, it appears the thanks button can only be used by the thread starter in which this case is me, so I believe the purpose of it is to ask questions I guess and the starter can define the best answers with a thanks.

I've went over the Forumotion Help Boards because I went over all the settings twice, it appears it is hardcoded in that way and I cannot change it in any way.
