Now this is a story all about how... Empty
PostSubject: Now this is a story all about how...   Now this is a story all about how... I_icon_minitimeFri Nov 16, 2012 12:38 am

Recently, I've been thinking. Thinking about life and Lord Gautama Buddha's teachings. The following words are result of my jump to the valley of nostalgia. It is, about the 17 years of life I have lived. So please, make yourself comfortable and be considerate enough to read these utmost humble words.

So the day was September 27th, 1995. On this particular day, an embryo, which emerged as a result of one lucky sperm fertilizing an ovum, would be fully developed for 9 months.
It was 6:30 am(+5.30 time zone), at the national Hospital, Colombo, Srilanka.
The **** sapien who you would come to know as hypersonic2560/hypersonic/Hyper/True Sonic Fan/The one with the bad opinions, on the internet, had finally been born and saw the light of day.
At merely 2.6 Kg at birth, I was slightly underweight.
My parents took me to my home, Kandy, Srilanka. Where I would stay for 6 years.
On April 26th 1997, my parents gave birth to another off-spring, who I would come to love as my younger brother.

I remember my 2nd birthday(or was it my 3rd?) as if it happened just yesterday. I remember the blue-icing-ed cake, with the little circus of animals as decorations, all the balloons, the music, and, -most importantly- the way everyone sang the happy birthday song for me.
It was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
If I remember correctly, at the age of 2, I would take my first steps and actually walk on my own. Along side speaking my first real words.
My father often reminds me of how I would look at light bulbs and scream "Kila-da!"(And I have no idea what that means, but it sure sounds funny).

My parents were both Senior Lecturers, at a local University. In 1991, my Mother attained a scholarship to continue research at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. In 2000, my family and I would leave our home country, heading towards Scotland and would live there for 3 whole years.
I was at the age of 4, my brother at 3. My time in Scotland is probably the most memorable time of the 17 years I've spent in life. For a number of reasons.
The first is because I had a hard time with communication, as I was un-knowledgeable of the English language( hey now, not all memories have to fond). So it took some time for me to accommodate to the new setting.
I was admitted to the Down Hill Primary School, where I would study from 1st Grade, all the way to the 3rd.

It was hard making friends there, especially since I couldn't speak English. I remember trying to speak with people in my native language(Sinhalese), even with the teachers. Of course, they couldn't understand a word, but they said that I was speaking in a very beautiful-sounding language; which felt flattering.

It was in Scotland where I was exposed to Video games and anime.
Pokemon was my first interest in this field. The anime was being aired on many channels, most noticeably on Sky-one. Would watch it every day. I loved it to death.
My farther, later being aware of my interest, bought me a Game-boy Color, along with Pokemon Red and Blue - My first games ever. This would explain why Pokemon is the only video game series I have any nostalgia for.
Good times indeed. I still remember choosing Squirtle as my first Pokemon from professor Oak.
Pokemon Blue was what I played the most, Red version was mostly handled by my little brother. I would catch more Pokemon, but would train Squirtle only. As a result, he was almost always ridiculously over-leveled.
Sadly, Vermilion City was as far as I could go. I never new how to get HM 05(Flash), and that dark cave known as Rock Tunnel scares the LOL out of me, always. I never dared to enter it.

Later, I grew interested in the Beyblade series. Both the anime and the toys. My farther would by me and my brother one each. I got a Draciel, my brother got some other guy who's name I keep forgetting.
But anyway, it was because of the Pokemon and Beyblade anime that I actually learned English.
So, thank you, Pokemon and Beyblade, you have educated me.
I would also watch Cartoon Network all the time. Shows including Dexter's Laboratory, Edd Edd'n Eddy, Power Puff Girls were among my favorites and most watched.

So, back in School, I now know English, I made many new friends and finally found my place. At school, I'd often get awards for "Best behavior" only because of how silent I was.
One of the activities we would often do after school, was connect or gameboys with link cables and play Pokemon Battles with each other. It was glorious.
I'd have an over-leveled Blastoise as early as in Cerulean City. I spam the fucking bubblebeam attack, and would always win battles. It was fun.
Later, my parents would buy me Tarzan, Tweety and Sylvester, and Pokemon Puzzle Challenge for the GBC, which I really didn't play much of.

My dad later bought a fucking Sega Genesis for my 5th or 6th birthday. Along with Sonic the Hedgehog 2, The Lion King, Alex Kidd and Aladdin.
But, I never played them.

Why?

Well, I don't remember. Maybe it's because I was such a goddamn retard back then.

And just like that, 3 years had passed. It was time to head back to my home country, Srilanka. I said my friends goodbye, and, never heard of them again.
I think it was 2003, when we headed back to my native country. I was somewhat glad to return, until we landed...

..."OMFG IT'S SO FREAKING HOT"

No seriously, it felt like I was on the sun. The heat was just unbearable compared to the more cool atmosphere of western countries. I needed more time to accommodate to it.
But wait. There was something else I forgot.

My native Language.

Yes, living in Scotland for 3 years made me forget Sinhalese my mother-tongue. I never used it there, even with my family members.

The only solution was to get a private teacher, to teach me the language. It was a painful process, as I had no interest whatsoever in learning it.
In late 2003, I was admitted to a new school, Trinity College, Kandy, Srilanka. It was, a christian school, so English was like the first language, which was an advantage for me. But, I wasn't able to study in English medium until 2005.
Oh, and 2003 was when I watched my first Blue film. It was by accident, of course.
And 2006 was when I intentionally started going on porn sites.

Anime or video games were not popular at all there, so it was hard to find anyone who shared similar interest. In-fact, I wasn't able to do so until 2005.
In 2006 however, Pokemon started airing on our local channels. People started watching it, but only a few went far enough to be able to have decent conversations with me.
There were 3 guys who were interested in Pokemon as much as I was, they owned the GBC/GBA games too. This was in 2006, we would, everyday, meet at hour lunch intervals at school to talk about the series. We would play the games at the same time and discuss hour progress. I had a lot of fun, it was indeed, a very memorable time of my life. Until...

I was rather small, physically. No one really bullied me at school for like, the first 3 years. But, in 2007, some LOL, physically much larger than me, would often harass me, they would call me names, steal my money etc.
The worst part was, they were my friends. Close friends. So I didn't take any action against them, because no matter what they did, they were still my friends. Friends who would still help me at need.

Now's the good part.

In early 2007, they started airing the Sonic SatAM show. Of course, it was dubbed in Sinhalese. And it sounded ridiculous. Even some names were changed for easier understanding and pronuonciation.
Eg; Antoine was replaced by "Dugiya"

It sucked in that aspect, but, I still loved it. After watching through the series I had gained an interest for the Sonic franchise. I watched Sonic X on YouTube. Liked it.
Later I had received Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Heroes for the PC from a friend. Played both games to death, you could say that, in a way, I "loved" them back then.

2008 was the year where I actually started doing something constructive. A new subject, Japanese language, was introduced at school. For some reason I was very eager to learn it. Maybe because the Teacher was fairly large breasted.
Anyway, I attained the highest marks for the subject in every exam. As a result of my interest for the language(and some friend's recommendation), I started watching Naruto.

AND I FREAKING LOVED IT

Naruto, and anime opening songs in general happened to be my first musical interest. I became a fan of Japanese pop culture as a result.
2010 was the year I had my first experience with masturbation. I was 14, and my friends all did it, so I just had to.
During the process, I was all like, " OMG THIS FEELS SO GOOOOD"
I would later masturbate up to 7 times a day, and surprisingly, would also masturbate in class, while the teacher is there. Me and my friends did this together, of course, without letting anyone else notice. We would have contests of who would ejaculate first and such. Good times.

Alright, now enough of that dirty talk.

In 2010, I decided to study Japanese as an extra subject for my G/C.E Ordinary levels. We had a special examination for a scholarship. Un-surprisingly, I got the highest marks and attained it.
It was a scholarship to visit Japan for 3 weeks as an exchange program.
With 5 other students around the country, and 5 adults, we headed towards Japan in July, 2010.

This is where I had my first experience with Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The home I stayed in had a Nintendo wii, along with SSBB.
And holy hell was the game good. I don't know how many hours from my 3 week stay I devoted to that game. I played it that much.
So anyway, we did stuff in Japan for 3 weeks and headed back home.

By this time, I was into flash animations on Newgrounds. My favorite being the Super Mario Bros. Z series, more often called SMBZ. Inspired by the series, I decided to make my own SMBZ rip-off series.

It sucked.

And I gave up Flash, and started something else; 3D modeling. I stumbled upon this 3D fan gaming engine called Blitz Sonic. I mostly used Sketch-up and FragMotion to create my own 3D stages and import them to the engine.
You can see them on my old YouTube channel, darksupersonic741(or something like that).
I lost interest, because I realized that my stages sucked. Which was expected as I never though about level design or anything back then.

So it was 2011, I was 16. The first big exam of my life was coming close. That is, the G.C.E Ordinary level examinations. I had to face test papers for a total of 9 subjects. i.e, Sinhalese Language, English Language, Japanese Language, Mathematics, Science, Health and physical education, Buddhism and History.
The examinations were held from 20th December - 29th December 2011.
Finally, doing the best I can, we were given a vacation of 5 months until our results came out.

That's when my life would be changed forever.
By joining....the SEGA Forums.

Actually, that's not right. I lurked since early 2010, joined in October 2011, and started posting since March 2012.

So yeah, the SEGA forums. What can I say? It's a really cool place. I think the reason for me to come there was because I was tired of playing Sonic games, and wanted to discuss them.
So, after one month of forum posting, my G.C.E O/L exam results were released.

And they sucked.

I had 3 As, 4 Bs, and 2 Cs. It may seem like a fairly good result, but it isn't, especially in relation to the overall result of my school. Still, it was enough for me to continue my studies in the Science, Biology stream. I'm set to write for the G.C.E Advanced level exams in late 2014.
I now study Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I'm particularly interested in physics mainly because of Sonic and the Genesis games. Though it's mainly an interest for the study of linear and rotational motion, momentum, gravity, etc.

With my basic knowledge of physics, I've come up with a theory for how most dynamic platformers(like Sonic) work.
You have a character, you have an environment. There is gravity - that's why you fall down.
Some games(like the Genesis games) have gravitational acceleration, meaning you would fall faster and faster, instead of at a set speed.
Now, you may think that you are controlling the character with your input - and that it's stimulating the characters nervous system to make basic movements.
I feel it in another way. To me, it seems like player input(left and right movement only) is an external forced applied to the character's body. That's why you can even move in air.
And I always thought that, when Sonic equips the speed sneakers, what happens is either the external force applied being much, much greater, or Sonic's inertia value being much, much less.

Did that make any sense?

Anyway, here I am now, at 17 years of age. My school life is rather weak. I rarely study, and at times, I would skip my classes just to be on the SEGA forums.
On November 27th 2012, I would again be heading to Glasgow, Scotland. For the purpose of visiting my mother, who was, and still is, doing research there since a few months ago.

I don't know who or what I will be in life. From the way it's going now, I'm not going to be someone who is to be respected, which is sad since both of my parents, are.
But, I still love my life, especially my internet life. I'm a very anti-social person irl, but the internet always makes me happy, not (only) because of porn, but for many other reasons as well.

I will continue to discuss Sonic with people on the internet for as much time as possible. Because, Sonic is something I'll never outgrow, no matter how bad the games are, and will be.

EDIT: WTF, you guys censor the words "h o m o" and "f a g", but don't censor "fucking"?

What the hell is wrong with you?

I got bored.

But really, the fact that I can sum up 17 years of my life in just a little over 2400 words must mean that I suck.

Hmm......don't think so...
I don't think I can count as many things about my past that are worth mentioning as you did....
