I thought it be a good idea to get the community in on this. We're going to have a contest, it will be for the header. In this, contestants will design a banner for the website of their own design. The rules shall be stated below.

Rules

-The banner must be the same size as the one we have now.

-Banner must have original artwork by you, or from official Sonic Artwork, this includes sprites, backgrounds, and character pictures. If your artwork is found having artwork from someone on Deviant Art or any other site, your banner will be disqualified.

-The wordings, 'Planet Sonic' must be somewhere on the banner for it to count.

-Must have official characters on the banner, no one from Archie.

-Remember, detail is everything.

-When your banner is done, post it here.

Prize

1st: 5,000 rings on the user's account, and their banner is used on the site for a while until next banner change.

2nd: 1,000 rings on user's account

3rd: 500 rings on user's account

Contest ends 17th of January.

I think they're 905 X 205. At least that's how I made my banner.

If you want to know how I found out, I pasted the image on my desktop, then I checked the proprieties.
(don't worry, people, I deleted it after that XD)

Just save it to your desktop and open it in your program. Easiest way.

The dimensions should be 205px or below x 900px


I'm not sure why Shadow does 905px banners as the forum width is 900px (so image gets downscaled)

No. I think it's to prevent contestants copying each other.
I think it's a great idea to only allow the creator and the admins to see submissions.
Plus it's a good surprise for everyone when the winner's header goes up.

Ah, I know whats happening!

Shadow has put in a system where only the creator of the header and admins can see it. Which is a really good idea in my opinion. It stops the misbehaving members from copying other peoples work.

Nope, I checked the history, the permissions for this section were set wrong and I fixed that earlier, confirmed it works.

I decided to have some fun with username backgrounds and figure out the size for them.

I might put something in here but I've got exams on next week.

This lack of time is also my reason for not being so active recently here.
