It's an underrated gem that I find many people overlook and bash it for the wrong reasons.

Variety in how you play the stages (Not to be confused with Pathways)

People always seem to only bring up the story and miss details like these that make the game great. I mean who plays a game for the story?

I mostly rate a game for its story.ShTH's story wasnt terrible.Atleast there was a story considering the recent games.BTW people complained mostly about the gameplay.It wasnt bad too actually.

There is one absolutely perfect about that game.Its CG scenes had the best graphics and designs i've ever seen in a game.Including the recent 2011-2012 games.That game came out at 2005 and this is just unbelieable.

I would (as most people do) rate this game as a little better than average.

I haven't played it in years, but I remember it being decent. For now, I refuse to play it because it's the only game I have left that has a full story I don't already dislike.

There's a difference between "I only came here for the story" and the story sucking/succeeding thus making the experience worse/better.

I wouldn't really call it a "gem", but it is indeed underrated and a pretty good game.

Better than most other 3D Sonic games.

No really, I found more enjoyment from it than Adventure 2, Heroes, 06, Secret rings, Unleashed and Black knight.

So you are offending my favorite game and character just because it has guns and is therefore different?
Heroes uses almost the Same physics and only difference was 3 characters.

The game was ok. I like the other 3D Sonic games better though, because this game is really glitchy, not to mention the story was lacking in a lot of places. The gameplay could be WAY better than it is, but it isn't horrible.

I almost never found a glitch in it and the gllitchy games are adventure and Theworstgameintheworldissonic06lol .v

Yeah same here. I encountered more glitches in both of the Adventures than I did in Shadow... Come to think of it I don't think I found any glitches in Shadow...

It's a good game. Just not a good Sonic game.

Only thing this game lacked was a solid writing and a freaking mini-map with a radar on it

But Alice is right. I don't think 06 is as bad as Genesis. 06 could have been a great game if SEGA didn't rush it.

Back on topic: StH was a good game too, but it could have been handled a bit better. Sense Shadow had guns, and that was the big deal with the game, I feel like they should have put more detail into the gun play.

For example, they should have made it so if you held down the L trigger on the Gamecube controller, the camera would zoom up close to Shadow, and it would be a third-person shooter perspective, while R trigger shot the weapon (Gears of War or Transformers: War for Cybertron style). It would take a bit more skill to use the guns! But if you weren't holding the L trigger, it would be Adventure style Gameplay.
