I mean, what's the point in a Sonic game if theres a very faint story?

Still, Sonic Team really need to pull themselves together with storylines, SA1 got a long, interesting story, while Gens was mainly focused on gimmicks and gameplay.
While some games like Minecraft don't have a storyline, it actually works for them, but not Sonic.
Unleashed at least had a great storyline, with the planet-sized jigsaw puzzle thing going on, but they slacked off a bit with Colors and Gens.

The games are better without the plot dragging them down anyway. Colors played out just like a classic sonic game would. Generations was pretty lacking, though.

As I recall, he said not to worry to much about what order the games are in in terms of continuity, not the storylines themselves. So don't scream KICK OUT IIZUKA yet. Remember that he brought us SA1 and 2, which have stories that many fans acclaim.

Besides, he dug the franchise out of the hole that it dug itself into with bad games like Sonic 06 and Shadow The Hedgehog. Even if the games now don't have the more involved stories like some of you want (including me TBH), you can't say that he hasn't helped the franchise.

Remember Shadow that without Iizuka your game would have never existed and Shadow would never had guns.

I agree they have to work on the story lines. I don't care who does it, as long it turns out good.

I'm still hoping that for the next game they'll take their time and make a good story and good gameplay, and not rush it like they did with Generations.

They didn't exactly rush it, then again they didn't exactly take their time with it either.

What I want to say is that I always love to have something completely done, no matter how much time it takes for it to be finished. I'm wiling to wait at least one more year for the next Sonic game, if this means it will raise its quality.
