It's that website that makes me question if SEGA is running a porn site. In order to sign up you need to pay money, which would be considered copyright infringement. So it really makes me wonder what Iizuka would say if I were to ask him. (Or in retro spec, if slash were to ask him)

Either case, perma-bannings should be left to:

Child porn posting, troll-mass attacks (such as ones from /b/), shock image posting, spam-bots, posting links to malicious sites, links to pirate-software, gambling, and talking about breaking the law.

Bypassing bans with alts and spam threads doesn't justify perma-bans with a user as active as TCT was. IP ban? Sure. But an IP ban for 30 days would be fine.

But really, I'm not defending TCT's action. He deserved a banning. Perma banning was a bit much, though. It's not like he'd repeat this into habit or sign up simply to troll. It's not exactly like he was a prolific spammer.

And I remain that alts and spam posts are a lot lesser of a threat than child pornography.

I don't think anyone's arguing that. The point is more that, while there's worse, it's still against the rules.

Yes, you are correct. My point is that perma-bannings should be left up to real trouble makers. TCT deserved a ban, but not a perma. A lengthy one? Sure. But not permanent.
